A folk and gong festival took place in Central Highlands Kon Tum province, aiming to promote the local ethnic groups’ traditional culture.

The festival, which attracted the participation of 270 folk artists from nine towns and districts, also highlighted the Space of Gong Culture, a unique cultural characteristic of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.
The Space of Gong Culture was recognised as the Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritages of the Humankind by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation in 2006.
The festival was organised by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
