Day 2: Kunming - Stone Forest (B/L/D)

Day 3: Stone Forest - Jianshui (B/L/D)

Drive to Jianshui through very beautiful scenery.

In the afternoon, you will have time to visit Jianshui which was in ancient time a very important political center and is still today a very interesting city because of its special architecture; the Temple of Confucius set in a magnificent way with its glistening glazed tiled roof; the garden of the Family Zhu, a typical residential structure of southern Yunnan; the Twin Dragon Bridge which was built during the Qing Dynasty.

Day 4: Jianshui - Mojiang (B/L/D)

Drive to Simao through subtropical landscape and fabulous view to deep ravines, endless terraced rice padies, sugar cane and tea plantations. Stop at villages to discover the countryside life of the Chinese peasants.

Day 5: Jianshui - Jinghong (Xishuangbanna) (B/L/D)

Continue the route through a lush and overflowing jungle filled with impenetrable greenery.

You will finally come out high above a river valley and then rapidly descend towards the huge yellow bends of the Mekong River

Day 6: Jinghong (Xishuangbanna) (B/L/D)

A day drive through a marvellously rich and fecund area, holding one quarter of China’s animals and one sixth of its plants species. On the way, stop at a typical Dai Village and market, the Dai being one of Yunnan’s major minority groups. In Xiaomenglun, you wil visit the Tropical Garden, one of the richest botanical concentrations in the world.

Day 7: Jinghong - Menglun - Mengla (B/L/D)

- A drive of 176 km, travelling through a marvellously rich and fecund area, holding one quarter of China’s faunal species and one sixth of its plants.
- On the way, stop at a Hani village and at a typical Dai market, the Dai being one of Yunnan’s major minority groups. In Xiaomenglun, you will also visit the Tropical Botanical Center, one of the richest botanical concentrations in the world.

Day 8: Mengla - Mohang/Boten - Luang Namtha (L/D)

On the way, discover the minority villages of Thai Dam, Kamu and Hmong.

Day 9: Luang Namtha - Oudomxai - Nong Kiao (B/L/D)

Early morning departure by car towards Oudomxay about 112 km, passing a mountainous landscape with mainly Hmong villages built along the crests.
Arrive in Oudomxai and climb That Phouxay overlooking the city and surroundings.

The region further east becomes more fertile, still mountainous with increasing Karst.
Arrive in the spectacular limestone landscape around the Nam Ou River in Nong Kiao.

Day 10: Nong Kiao - Pak Ou – Luang Prabang (B/L/D)

Take the boat down the Nam Ou River. The longest river of northern Laos passes through a fantastic karst scenery. Watch the local villagers fishing and picking river grass.
Picnic lunch on the riverbank along the way.
At the confluence of Nam Ou and Mekong, visit the sacred Buddha caves, Tham Ting and Tham Phoum housing hundred of Buddha statues.
Arrive at the Luang Prabang pier in the afternoon.

Day 11: Luang Prabang – Vientiane (B/L/D)

Visit the main highlights of Luang Prabang: take a walk on the fresh local market then visit Vat Mai, Vat Xieng Thong, the most beautiful temple of the city and climb to Phousi Hill for an outstanding view over the city and surroundings.

Visit the national museum (former royal palace)
Take a walk in the old city then time at leisure.
Transfer to airport and flight to Vientiane in late afternoon.
Arrive in Vientiane and transfer to the hotel for check in.
Dinner at Kua Lao restaurant with music and traditional dances.

Day 12: Vientiane – Departure (B/L/-)
Breakfast at the hotel
Start your visit Vientiane with Thongkhankham market then proceed to visit the Lao Textile Museum, 3 traditional houses in a lush garden, explores a unique private collection of Lao artifacts and textiles.
Proceed to Vat Sisaket, the oldest and most beautiful temple of Vientiane.
Continue to nearby Vat Phra Keo, the former Royal temple turned into a Buddhist museum.
Lunch at Le Central restaurant
Afternoon visit Talat Sao to buy some Lao textiles and basketry as souvenirs.
Proceed to That Luang Stupa, the most revered shrine in Laos and pass by Patouxay (Victory Monument).
Time at leisure until transfer to the airport for departure to your next destination.
