Hmong Soft Adventure Tour (Chiang Mai/Hmong Hilltribe Lodge)

A unique opportunity to explore the northern hills of Chiang Mai, visit the unique hilltribes and, get a taste of adventure! Ride

over rapids on inflatable rafts, visit Hmong hilltribe villages, trek through the forest on the backs of elephants, go biking on dirt tracks through the jungle and walk through the steep woodland hills! Overnight stays at the Hmong Village Lodge - basic but with western comforts and hilltribe ambiance. The l

odge features barbecue/camp-fire dinner accompanied by cultural presentations by the Hmong. A great experience!!

Day 1: Chiang Mai - Hmong Hilltribe Lodge
  • 8.00-8.30 Pick up passengers from hotels, airport, railway station and bus terminal in Chiang Mai.
  • 8.30 Depart Chiang Mai by 4WD Land Rover or similar to the hilltribe museum at Mae Rim.
    Then continue to Mae Tang for an exciting elephant safari through the rainforest for 1 hour trek and ox-cart ride.
  • 13.30 Sample a local lunch and embark on your inflatable raft down the rapids along the scenic Mae Tang River (1 hour - depending on season).
  • 14.30 Continue by 4WD to Baan Hauy Rai, passing several villages, orchards, valleys and rice fields. Make a brief stop at Wat Tha Kham - the most significant temple in the area followed by a short hike up the mountain trail through the forest to Baan Pang Hai, a simple village located 830 metres above sea level. If you don't want to walk, you can journey by car to the Hmong Hilltribe Lodge.
  • 19.00 BBQ dinner at HMONG HILLTRIBE LODGE followed by presentations by the Hmong tribe Overnight Hilltribe Loge.
Day 2: Hmong Hilltribe Lodge
  • 7.00 Breakfast
  • After breakfast, 4WD to the small village of Baan Teen Doi for a short stroll to Mae Pa. Climb aboard your mountain bike for an exhilarating ride to Baan Palan, visiting a small village reservoir, an old temple at Baan Pong Kaw with beautiful wall paintings and a hot spring. Picnic lunch - then drive on the mountain road through Baan Pok, Baan Pang Kwai and Baan Hmong Nong Hoi Mai. Then get into action again by mountain biking from Nong Hoi Mai to Mae Khi village where you can have local coffee or tea in the Hmong's kitchen.
  • Return to HMONG HILLTRIBE LODGE for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Hmong Hilltribe Lodge - Chiang Mai
  • 8.30 Breakfast and time at leisure.
  • 10.00 Depart the lodge by 4WD Land Rover or similar. Visit Tard Mork waterfall and an orchid farm on the way.
  • 12.00 Lunch at local restaurant.
  • 14.00 Visit snake farm before transfer to your hotel or to Chiang Mai Airport.
