This morning, we leave Ho Chi Minh City and head for the hills, literally. The scenic 7 hour drive along Highway 20 to Da Lat will be broken up by stops at some of the tea and coffee plantations. We will stop for lunch at the picturesque Dambri falls, about 15 km from the highway. Arriving at Da Lat, sometimes known as the City of Eternal Spring, by late to mid afternoon, you will be able to take a short walk to get a feel for this delightful city. This evening we will head out to one of the fine restaurants in town.
Around 8 am, we will leave for a tour of Da Lat and the surrounding areas. We will visit Bao Dai Palace . From here we visit the rather bizarre and very aptly named Crazy House, a brightly painted concrete house which winds itself around trees, mimicking their shapes. It now functions as a guesthouse. Next visit is Truc Lam Thien Vien and Pagoda. This afternoon, for those interested, we can take the short train ride on the Cremaillere railway to the village of Tri Mat. In the evening, you will enjoy fine cuisine at a local restaurant.
We will head eastward, making our way towards the coast. We’ll pass through pine forests and small market garden communities before reaching the top of Ngoan Muc Pass where we begin our 18 kilometer descent down to the coastal plains below. If you look to the left from here you may see where the old rack and pinion railway made its way down the range. Looking forward, you may just be able to make out the coastline situated 50 kilometers in the distance. A little over midway on the drive we arrive at the twin towns of Thap Cham and Phan Rang. The literal translation of Thap Cham is ‘Cham Tower’ and there’s a fine example of one here in the form of 13th Century Po Klong Garai. We will reach to Nha Trang City in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel in Nha Trang.
Start from your hotel to Cau Da port. Tri Nguyen Aquarium on Mieu Island is the first place to visit, many sea species of Nha Trang/Khanh Hoa province make a small ocean world there. Mun Island is the best island for snorkeling where you can see lots of lives colorful corals and fish. Visit a fishing village and taking a fresh lunch at the island. On the way back you will be able to see caves in which the sea swallows make their nest.
After breakfast, we transfer from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh (450 km in 8 hours). Stop at Ca Na beach for sightseeing and Mui Ne beach for having lunch. Arrival in Ho Chi Minh at around 18:00. End of services.
